ALERT: Smart Meter Opt-Out Ordered for SDG&E / SCE Customers – Vote to be on April 19th

An interim smart meter opt-out for Southern California’s SDG&E and SCE residential customers was proposed by a CPUC judge on March 15, 2012. Take action to sign up to get rid of the risky, radiation-emitting smart meters on your home. The five CPUC Commissioners will vote on these interim opt-outs on April 19th, 2012, in San Francisco. If approved they will become an interim option for customers, effective immediately. The proceedings will continue for several more phases, upon which time it is anticipated that more permanent solutions will be determined.

TAKE ACTION NOW to request to be placed on an opt-out list for SDG&E, SCE, or PG&E customers

[March 15, 2012], Judge Amy Yip-Kikugawa, of the CPUC, issued a preliminary order to SDG&E and SCE to provide their customers with an “opt-out” for the embattled, radiation-emitting smart meters. The blog article, below, explains the main points of the opt-outs and provides the link to the full SDG&E document, with both SDG&E and SCE opt-out documents in Media section of the Patch article.
