Take Action Against Electrosmog

The Center for Electrosmog Prevention (CEP) Update

Keeping you up-to-date on electrosmog prevention and solutions.

Electrosmog Prevention News Update June 2016Dear All,Greetings!Much has occurred in 2016 with regards to electrosmog pollution – exposing the population to higher and higher levels of electromagnetic emissions consisting of harmful radiofrequency radiation and EMF’s (electromagnetic fields)…The Center for Electrosmog Prevention (CEP) continues to function as a watchdog for the smart meter opt-out program, to be sure it runs as smoothly as possible in California. CEP has been recognized by the CPUC as making “a substantial contribution” to the second opt-out proceeding, adopting our strong recommendations and suggestions to reduce costs of the opt-out. As a result, utility opt-out customers pay for “only” three years, not forever, for the opt-out. We advocated for a free opt-out and will continue to do so. However, in the interim, we are pleased that the longterm costs have been greatly reduced. We continue to advocate for improvements to the opt-out program, including a complete ban on smart meters, reducing the cost to zero, elimination of smart meter banks and commercial smart meters, as well as recognition of smart meter health and safety problems.Recently, the results of a national Institutes of Health (NIH) National Toxicology Program (NTP) study of rf radiation (the type emitted by wireless devices, including smart meters, cell towers, and cell phones), showed it can cause cancer (brain and heart tumors), surprising even the non-believers in our pro-industry government agencies. This is being called “a game-changer”, which can now be used to justify reduction in exposures to rf radiation, emitted by all wireless, including cell phones. However, the problems are great and this yet-to-be-applied study, though covered in over 1,000 articles, nationwide, including Scientific American, requires concerned citizens to take action to speed up the process.PROBLEM:  In many of our communities:
  1. Smart utility meters are fully installed (in San Diego County, on over 2 million homes and only about 2,000 customers have opted out, as few realize the dangers.)
  2. Cell towers are being erected everywhere – and upgraded, yielding much higher radiation in residential and commercial locations at a furious pace.
  3. Wi-FI is being installed in nearly all public places including schools, libraries, and medical facilities
  4. Nearly all the population use cell phones throughout the day.
  5. High voltage powerlines crisscross the county, exposing every town to dangerous EMF’s – even, in the case of Alpine, CA, when buried underground.
ACTION: I encourage you to use parts of the “No Safe Place” letter to write your own (we have permission from its author to copy and use as much as you like, but do reference her letter as the source). Please send your letter to business owners and HOA’s; school boards and administrators; and elected officials in your town, state, and at the federal level, to alert them to the dangers of electrosmog pollution, especially rf radiation, a term  many are not even familiar with.I thank you for your interest and support!Center for Electrosmog Prevention (CEP) is a 501c3 nonprofit!
Your tax-deductible donation of any amount is essential
to help CEP continue our work to reduce electrosmog pollution in 2016.
